Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician Near La Sal, UT
We are actively seeking a skilled General Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position near La Sal, UT. This opportunity is ideal for physicians looking to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis, providing vital services to Veterans through Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments. The position is available ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to the well-being of Veterans in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
C&P Exams: Perform one-time, non-treatment Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments for Veterans.
Assessment Focus:
- Interview-based evaluations with some physical assessments, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.
- No prescribing or treatment is required.
- Proficient use of a goniometer for precise measurements.
Specialization Requirements:
- Familiarity with Musculoskeletal conditions, Diabetes, and Cardio is required.
- Proficiency in METs testing and the evaluation and diagnosis of respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
Options for Coverage:
- Travel to VES-leased facilities to perform exams.
- Schedule and conduct exams within your own practice, offering flexibility in location.
- Option to work half-days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours), based on availability.
Support & Training:
- Training: Comprehensive training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs). Providers will receive support in using the VES provider portal to submit evaluations.
- Documentation:
- Reporting/DBQs must be completed and submitted within 48 hours of exam completion.
- Follow-up administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostic readings, will be required regularly.
- No narrative report is necessary; the end product is the completion of standardized forms.
Equipment & Technology:
- Laptop Requirement: Providers must use their own personal laptop (NO MACs).
- Quick Credentialing: Fast-track credentialing and onboarding process.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Required.
- Licensure: Must have an active Utah state license.
- Eligible Specialties: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or any physician with a general medicine background or experience with compensation and pension exams.
Additional Details:
- Providers Needed: 3
- DMA Certification: Available, offering CME credits and required once privileged if not already certified.
