Locum Tenens Opportunity: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Hematology Oncology (Near Portland, OR)
We have an exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Hematology Oncology, located near Portland, OR. This role is critical in providing high-quality care to patients within an outpatient setting, ensuring that their hematologic and oncologic needs are met with expertise and compassion.
Key Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing
- Shift Schedule:
- 4 days a week
- 10-hour shifts
- Practice Setting:
- Outpatient only
- No inpatient or call responsibilities
- Patient Volume:
- 12 patients per shift
- EMR System: Epic
Job Responsibilities:
- Advanced Practice Provider Role:
- Provide comprehensive care in a hematology-oncology outpatient setting.
- Manage patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with infusion RNs, especially when the MD is off-site.
- Oncology Expertise Required:
- Providers must have prior oncology experience.
- AOCNP certification is preferred, although not mandatory.
- Ability to handle complex cases independently is essential.
- Team Dynamics:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
- Potential to cover full-time or split coverage with another provider.
Certification and Licensing Requirements:
- Board Certification:
- Board certified or eligible in their specialty.
- BLS Certification: Required
- Oregon State License:
- Highly preferred that candidates already have an Oregon state license, although unlicensed candidates will be considered.
Additional Information:
- Holidays Observed: New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
- Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated 90 days
- Hospital Privileges: Required
