A locum tenens position is available for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) near Albany, NY. This role offers a consistent schedule and involves working in a hospital-based setting. Position Details:

Weekend and On-Call Requirements:



  • Weekend Call: 24-hour call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM the next day.

  • Weeknight Call: 12-hour on-call shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Schedule: Consistent 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM shifts, with additional on-call responsibilities.

  • Case Mix: Includes General Surgery, Endoscopy, Vascular, OB, Orthopedic, Bariatric Surgery, and UroGynecology. Note: No hearts, neurosurgery, or thoracic cases.

  • Hospital Setting: The role is based in a hospital setting with CRNA supervision by one physician for every three CRNAs.

  • Procedures: Spinal epidurals are required. Experience with a low volume of pediatric cases is expected.

  • Delivery Volume: Approximately 100 deliveries per month, with a low epidural rate due to a large midwifery program. The cesarean section rate is around 15%.


Credentialing and Licensing:



  • Credentialing Timeframe: 2-3 months, with expedited processing available for candidates with an active New York license.

  • EMR: Epic


Certification Requirements:



  • ACLS: Required

  • BLS: Required

  • NBCRNA: Required

  • PALS: Required

  • State License: Active New York medical license required


Facility Information:



  • Practice Setting: Hospital-based practice with coverage limited to one campus.

  • ORs: 7 operating rooms are available.

  • Travel: No travel required; coverage is confined to one campus.
