Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Needed ASAP - Ongoing (Near Birnamwood, WI) (j-233247)

We are actively searching for a skilled and dedicated physician to join our team and provide coverage for a long-term vacancy. This locum tenens position offers a diverse caseload in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a call schedule that allows for a healthy work-life balance.

- Flexible Schedule with Call: Enjoy a predictable Monday-Friday schedule with operating room hours from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and on-call pager coverage from 3:00 pm to 7:00 am. On-call hours allow for flexibility, as you do not need to stay in-house but must be able to arrive at the facility within 20 minutes.
- Supportive Team Environment: Collaborate with a team of experienced healthcare professionals dedicated to providing high-quality patient care.
- Modern Electronic Medical Records: Utilize the Epic electronic medical records system to ensure efficient documentation and communication.
- Temporary Privileges Available: While hospital/surgery center privileges are required, temporary privileges can be facilitated to expedite your start date.
What You'll Do:
- Provide anesthesia care for a variety of surgical procedures in the operating room, including supervision of certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) as needed.
- Respond to labor and delivery needs, including C-sections and epidural analgesia.
- Administer anesthesia for interventional radiology procedures, intensive care unit (ICU) cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs).
- Provide sedation for radiology studies (CT scans) and floor/emergency department procedures (IV starts with ultrasound guidance).
- Offer emergency coverage for trauma cases, including sedation, intubation, central line placement, and arterial line placement.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as lumbar punctures.
- Manage regional blocks in the holding area and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations for patients with complex medical histories (approximately 5-10% of caseload).
- Participate in emergency medical responses as part of the hospital's response team activation (ACT 10 compliant).
Who You Are:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a current and active license to practice medicine in Wisconsin or ability to obtain an Interstate Medical License Compact (IMLC) privilege.
- Board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications (required).
- BLS certification (required).
- A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- The ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a team environment.
