  • Key Responsibilities:



    • Conduct pre-operative evaluations for patients undergoing cardiothoracic surgery.

    • Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.

    • In collaboration with CRNAs, administer general anesthesia and monitor patients throughout the surgical procedure using advanced monitoring techniques, including transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

    • Provide post-operative pain management and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth recovery.

    • Oversee the care provided by CRNAs within the established care team model.

    • Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical records system.




  • Qualifications for Success:



    • Current board certification in anesthesiology with a subspecialty certification in cardiothoracic anesthesia is mandatory (BE or BC).

    • Valid and active North Carolina state medical license is required.

    • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in cardiothoracic anesthesia is preferred.

    • TEE certification and demonstrable experience with transesophageal echocardiography are essential.

    • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are crucial.

    • The ability to work independently while leading a team in a collaborative environment is essential.
