Seeking a Skilled and Experienced Gastroenterologist for Locum Tenens Role


Are you a dedicated Gastroenterologist passionate about providing comprehensive GI care? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Abbotsford, WI. This temporary opportunity offers a flexible start date as soon as possible (ASAP) and extends until the permanent position is filled.


Responsibilities:



  • Deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastrointestinal care to a diverse patient population, including adults with a variety of digestive disorders.

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations, diagnose digestive diseases, and develop effective treatment plans.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and other GI procedures.

  • Prescribe medications and provide ongoing medical management for patients with chronic digestive conditions.

  • Perform admissions for inpatients with gastrointestinal issues and manage their care throughout their hospital stay.

  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

  • Participate in hospital rounds and provide care for assigned patients on the inpatient unit.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Epic electronic medical record system.


Qualifications:



  • Active and unrestricted Wisconsin (WI) medical license or eligible for Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) privileges.

  • Board-certified in Internal Medicine with a fellowship in Gastroenterology is mandatory.

  • Experience in a hospital setting managing adult patients with gastrointestinal disorders is preferred.

  • Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and strong clinical foundation in gastroenterology.

  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and healthcare teams.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and EGDs.

  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare setting.

  • Ability to manage both scheduled clinic hours and call coverage.

Schedule:
