A growing hospitalist group in Southern Illinois is hiring. This hospital is just over one hour east of St. Louis, Missouri. They have an excellent shift model schedule of 5 on/9 off (Thursday-Monday). The shifts are 24 hours with daytime rounding and on-call after 5:00pm (come in as needed). If the census is over 20 then additional hospitalist will be brought in for coverage. The hospital does prefer candidates comfortable with vent management and central lines. The compensation is generally $1,600 for a 24 hour shift, which is essentially 8-10 hours plus call. The hospital is a 55-bed acute-care facility in a scenic part of Illinois. They have a state of the art surgery center with over 30 physicians on staff.
