This locum tenens position offers a predictable schedule with no call requirements, allowing you to focus on providing exceptional care to critically ill patients during your assigned shifts.

What You'll Do:



  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for critically ill patients within the CVICU, utilizing your advanced practice skills.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians, considering the unique needs of each patient.

  • Manage complex medical conditions, including hemodynamic instability, respiratory failure, and other critical care presentations.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, monitor patient responses to treatment, and adjust care plans as needed.

  • Provide ongoing patient education and support to families during a time of critical illness.

  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and coordinated care delivery within the CVICU.

  • Document all patient interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and interventions thoroughly and efficiently within the Epic electronic medical records system.


Who You Are:



  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree for Nurse Practitioners or Master's degree in Physician Assisting (PA) (required).

  • Current active license to practice in New Mexico (only).

  • Board certification in Critical Care Medicine by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) for NPs or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PAs (required).

  • Current ACLS certification (required).

  • A commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to critically ill patients and their families.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills to manage complex medical conditions.
