Locum Tenens Radiologist Opportunity Near Chicago, IL


We are seeking a Locum to Permanent Radiologist for a hospital-based position near Chicago, IL. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with the potential for long-term placement.


Position Details:



  • Profession: Physician

  • Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing

  • Rate Type: Hourly

  • Shift Type: Days

  • Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm


Job Description:



  • Dates of Coverage: January 2025 - Ongoing

  • Reason for Coverage: Recruiting for a permanent Body Imaging position(s)

  • Practice Setting: Hospital-Based. Providers will read for all three locations but will be primarily based at the main hospital.

  • Call Schedule: Negotiable

  • Call Ratio: Negotiable

  • Average Number of Cases Per Day:

    • 35 CTs

    • 100 X-rays

    • 60 Ultrasounds



  • Trauma Level/Designation:

    • Level I Trauma Center

    • Level II Trauma Centers



  • Documentation System/EMR:

    • Epic

    • PowerScribe

    • Intelerad PACs

    • Softek Illuminate



  • Number of Radiologists in Practice: FTEs

  • Teleradiology: Open to remote reading; fee schedule review required.

  • Patient Age Demographic: All ages (Locum not required to read Pediatrics)


Procedures Required:



  • Angiography

  • Mammography

  • CT Scans

  • Ultrasound


Submission Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required

  • IL State License: Required

  • BLS Certification: Required

  • Conversion Rate Cap: $25,000


Additional Information:



  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 3 months

  • Reimbursement: Flight, Hotel, Rental Car, and Mileage (billed at the IRS Standard Rate). Local providers will only receive parking reimbursement.

  • Application Fees: Please note that application or credentialing fees are not reimbursed.
