We are seeking a highly qualified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in Neuroendovascular Surgery to provide locum tenens coverage near Marysville, MI. This is a high-priority position with immediate start dates available, running from November 10, 2024, through February 10, 2025.
This is a unique opportunity for a skilled APP to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment, providing vital support as part of a team caring for neuroendovascular surgery patients. Below are the key details:
Position Details:
- Specialty: Neuroendovascular Surgery, inpatient hospital-based setting.
- Location: Near Marysville, MI.
- Duration: November 10, 2024 February 10, 2025, with potential for extension.
- Schedule:
- Night shifts from 6 to 6 , in-house coverage.
- Weekend requirement: one weekend shift every 4 weeks.
- No on-call duties.
- Estimated total coverage of 240 hours over a 6-week period.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care for neuroendovascular surgery cases, including rounding, consults, and postoperative management.
- Must have experience in acute neurosurgical and stroke emergencies, ICU care, and postoperative care.
- No OR/First Assist or procedural work required.
- Expected to manage a patient load averaging 10 patients per shift.
- Requires autonomous decision-making, with supervising physician support available off-site 24/7.
Qualifications:
- Certifications: ANCC, AANP, NCCPA board certifications required.
- Licensure: Active Michigan license and a Michigan DEA address.
- Additional Requirements: Clean background check, BLS, ENLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of one year in neurosurgery or similar specialty; no new graduates accepted.
- Procedures: Basic proficiency in simple suturing for minor lacerations.
