Are you a board-certified nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) with a passion for oncology seeking a rewarding locum tenens opportunity in a supportive environment near Orleans, California? We are actively searching for a skilled and dedicated advanced practice provider (APP) to join our team and provide long-term coverage due to a recent cancellation. This locum tenens position offers a full-time, Monday-Friday schedule with no on-call responsibilities, allowing you to focus on delivering compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

What You'll Do:



  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for patients with established cancer diagnoses.

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the oncology team, potentially including chemotherapy management.

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as scans and blood work, to monitor treatment progress and adjust plans as needed.

  • Provide patient education and counseling regarding cancer treatment options, side effects, and supportive care.

  • Oversee routine follow-up appointments, ensuring patients receive timely and comprehensive care.

  • Manage patient care tasks and communication with the healthcare team to maintain efficient clinic operations.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in oncology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.


Who You Are:



  • Current and active license to practice as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the state of California (only).

  • National certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in a specialty relevant to oncology is preferred.

  • Experience working in an oncology setting is a plus.

  • Current BLS certification (required).

  • A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to patients with cancer and their families.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.
