Position Overview



  • Job Type: Locum Tenens

  • Profession: Physician Assistant (PA)

  • Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgery

  • Start Date: December 2, 2024

  • End Date: February 28, 2025 (with potential for extension)

  • Location: Near Richford, NY


Schedule



  • Shift Details: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Estimated Patient Load: 8-10 patients per day

  • On-Call Requirements: None

  • Weekend Requirements: None


Responsibilities



  • Provide comprehensive inpatient cardiovascular surgery support.

  • Conduct invasive procedures, including placement of invasive lines and chest tubes.

  • Serve as first assist in cardiovascular surgeries, ensuring safe and effective surgical practices.

  • Work exclusively with adult patients in a Level 2 trauma facility.

  • Utilize the Epic EMR system for efficient patient care documentation and workflow management.


Requirements



  • License: Valid New York State PA license (required by start date).

  • Certifications:

    • NCCPA certification (mandatory)

    • ACLS certification (mandatory)



  • Experience: Minimum experience as a first assist in cardiovascular surgery is required; no new graduates at this time.
