Are you a Board Certified Nocturnist Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant seeking an exciting locum tenens opportunity? We are looking for a skilled professional to provide coverage for our established neurosurgery team at a leading facility near Washington, NC. Position Overview



  • Profession: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

  • Specialty: Neurological Surgery

  • Employment Type: Locum Tenens


Key Details



  • Shift Schedule:

    • 7 on, 7 off from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

    • Weekend-only shifts available from Friday at 7:00 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM



  • Practice Setting: Inpatient only at a Level 1 Trauma Center

  • Team Structure: Join an established team of 9 Neurosurgeons and 9 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) providing 24/7 inpatient support.


Responsibilities



  • Conduct admissions and discharges, consultations, and, if desired, assist in the operating room.

  • While discharges at night are not typical, they may occur depending on patient needs.

  • Participate in an orientation day prior to starting your shifts to ensure a smooth transition into the role.


Requirements



  • Certifications:

    • Must be Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.



  • Experience: Previous experience in a neurosurgery or trauma setting is preferred.

  • Work in a 974-bed tertiary hospital accredited by JCAHO, equipped with the latest technology and support systems.

  • Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records to streamline patient care and documentation.
