Seeking a Qualified and Experienced Anesthesiologist


Are you a dedicated and highly skilled Anesthesiologist seeking a locum tenens opportunity in a dynamic healthcare setting? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Dover, GA. This opportunity offers a variety of scheduling options, including full-time and per diem roles, starting as soon as possible (ASAP).


Responsibilities:



  • Provide safe and effective anesthesia care for a wide range of surgical procedures, including cardiac, orthopedic, neurological, general, urology, ENT, bariatric, vascular, thoracic, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and trauma.

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-operative evaluations, develop individualized anesthesia plans, and administer various anesthetic techniques (general, regional, sedation).

  • Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological functions throughout surgery, ensuring their safety and well-being.

  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.

  • Manage post-operative pain and provide necessary interventions for patient comfort.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the EPIC electronic medical record system.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in anesthesia practices and participate in ongoing professional development activities.


Qualifications:



  • Active and unrestricted Georgia (GA) medical license is mandatory.

  • Board certification in Anesthesiology is required.

  • TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography) certification is a preferred qualification for full-time cardiovascular (CV) anesthesia coverage.

  • Experience and comfort performing mitral valve repair procedures with a mitral clip are preferred for full-time CV anesthesia coverage.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical anesthesia setting is preferred.

  • Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in anesthesiology.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic surgical environment.


Additional Considerations:



  • This locum tenens opportunity offers both full-time (45 hours/week) and per diem scheduling options to suit your preferences.

  • You will be working within a supportive team environment consisting of 16 generalist and 3 CV anesthesiologists, alongside 54 advanced practice providers (CRNAs and AAs).

  • The facility boasts 28 surgical suites and an obstetrics department, performing over 24,000 cases annually.

  • The call schedule involves a combination of in-house night calls (7:00 pm - 7:00 am) and beeper coverage on weekdays and weekends.

  • Cardiac anesthesia coverage requires a separate call schedule, including 7 dedicated OB CRNA call shifts per month.

  • The typical non-call day schedule is from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
