An exciting locum tenens opportunity is available for a board-certified General Surgeon to provide call-only coverage near Fayetteville, North Carolina. This is an ideal opportunity for a physician looking for short-term coverage with a manageable workload in a well-supported hospital environment.


Assignment Details:



  • Start Date: December 6, 2024

  • End Date: December 10, 2024

  • Coverage Type: Call-only coverage for the duration of the assignment

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient care only; no outpatient duties required

  • Call Details:

    • Beeper call with a required 20-minute response time

    • No set number of patients per shift; volume varies

    • Admissions are required as needed

    • No phone consults expected

    • No rounding required



  • Call Ratio: Minimal call-back percentage; variable call frequency


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: General Surgery certification required

  • Licensure: Must hold a valid North Carolina medical license

  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 2 weeks

  • Temporary Privileges: Available

  • Certifications Required: NC Medicare and Medicaid; no additional certifications such as ACLS or BLS required


Support and Staffing:



  • Supervision: No supervision of advanced practice providers (PAs/NPs) required

  • Support Staff: No RN, MA, or office staff during the assignment

  • Teaching Supervision: Resident supervision required during the assignment, providing opportunities for interaction with surgical trainees
