Locum Tenens Opportunity: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician Near Garfield, WA


We are actively seeking a skilled Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician for a locum tenens position near Garfield, WA. This role is ideal for an experienced PM&R physician looking to contribute to an inpatient setting with the potential for a long-term engagement. The position offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule, with no call responsibilities, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.


Position Overview:



  • Specialty: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R)

  • Location: Near Garfield, WA

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Contract Length: Ongoing

  • Position Type: Locum Tenens

  • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only


Key Responsibilities:



  • Clinical Care:

    • Provide inpatient rehabilitation care to patients in a specialized unit.

    • Manage a patient load of approximately 10 patients per shift.

    • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.



  • Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

    • Initial full-time coverage required, with the expectation to transition to 2-3 weeks of coverage per month once a supplemental physician is onboarded.



  • Practice Setting:

    • Focused on inpatient rehabilitation with no outpatient responsibilities.

    • No call duties, providing a stable work-life balance.



  • EMR System:

    • Utilize the Epic EMR system for all patient documentation and management.



  • Certification and Licensing:

    • Must be board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

    • Fellowship training is preferred but not required.

    • Must hold an active license to practice in Washington or be eligible for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).




Practice Details:



  • Practice Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

  • Support Staff:

    • Work within a collaborative team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other rehabilitation professionals.

    • Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a well-supported environment.



  • Holidays:

    • Coverage includes major holidays: New Years Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.



  • Support and Resources:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Experience:

    • At least one year of experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred.

    • Strong clinical skills in managing complex rehabilitation cases.



  • Licensing:

    • Must be licensed to practice in Washington or eligible for licensure through IMLC.



  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in using the Epic EMR system for patient care and documentation.
