Address a critical need for pediatric emergency care, working a predictable schedule with no call responsibilities most of the time. You'll typically cover outpatient clinic hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) with on-call availability required during assigned weeks (evenings and weekends).Focus on Pediatric Care:
Dedicate your skills to providing specialized emergency care for children, with a focus on outpatients while also participating in inpatient rounds and consultations when needed.Supportive Work Environment:
Utilize the Epic electronic medical records system and collaborate with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing for pediatric patients presenting to the emergency department.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for a variety of acute medical conditions in children.
- Perform essential stabilization procedures as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the Epic electronic medical records system.
- Participate in inpatient rounds and consultations during on-call weeks.
- Be available for outpatient clinic visits during on-call weeks (minimum of 5 patients per day).
Qualifications for Success:
- Current board certification in pediatric emergency medicine is mandatory.
- Valid and active Pennsylvania state medical license is required.
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in pediatric emergency medicine is preferred.
- Current certifications in BLS and PALS are mandatory.
- Experience with EEG Reads is a requirement.
- Familiarity with specific conditions like Bartter's Syndrome, Fabry Disease, Fanconi Syndrome, Hemolytic-uremic Syndrome, Hepatorenal Syndrome, and Renal Transplant is preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are crucial.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is essential.
- Commitment to a minimum of two weeks of availability per month is required.
- Willingness to be available for calls during evenings and weekends during assigned on-call weeks is required.
