Are you an experienced OB/GYN hospitalist looking for a locum tenens opportunity in Texas? We have an exciting position available near Hull, TX, for a qualified professional who is dedicated to providing quality patient care. This temporary position offers flexible shift options and an opportunity to work with a reputable hospital team in a high-acuity setting.
Position Highlights
- Location: Near Hull, Texas
- Schedule: Flexible 12- or 24-hour shifts available
- Duration: Approximately 8 months, starting April 14, 2024
- Patient Volume: High volume, specifically during "Pink" shifts, ensuring a fast-paced, challenging environment
Key Responsibilities
- Emergency Consultations: Provide OB consults for hospital obstetric patients in the Emergency Department and various hospital-owned clinics.
- Patient Transport: Coordinate transport for critically ill obstetric patients as needed.
- OB/GYN Coverage: Offer surgical assist services and cover the OB triage unit, managing emergent labor or symptoms.
- Unassigned Patient Care: Evaluate and manage unassigned obstetric and gynecology patients, including admissions, deliveries, and discharges.
- Emergent Response: Actively respond to and manage OB/GYN emergencies, ensuring patient safety until primary physicians arrive.
- High-Risk Case Management: Assume care for high-risk maternal-fetal medicine patients, including TOLAC management and complicated deliveries.
- Collaborative Consults: Work closely with nursing and community obstetricians to manage patients, improve workflows, and optimize care outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Obstetrics/Gynecology
- Certification: Maternal Level II experience required; familiarity with NICU Levels IIIV is advantageous.
- Documentation: Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and quality compliance.
- Additional Skills: Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, proficiency in fetal heart monitoring (NCC certification preferred), and capability to perform H&P exams on unassigned patients.
Additional Duties
- Hospital Compliance: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, morbidity and mortality reviews, and accreditation standard compliance.
- Patient Satisfaction: Engage with patients and families to ensure a high standard of customer service and contribute to hospital patient experience improvements.
- Continuing Education: Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies and protocols.
