We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Hospitalist for a locum tenens position near Merit, TX. Position Overview:

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient


Key Responsibilities:




  • Inpatient Care:



    • Provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients in an inpatient setting.

    • Manage and oversee pediatric patients in a 3-bed pediatric unit and a 14-bed nursery.




  • Call Coverage:



    • 24-hour call shifts from 7 to 7 , ensuring continuous care for pediatric patients.

    • Be available for admissions and other inpatient needs during on-call hours.

    • Participate in both patient rounding and emergency care as needed.




Practice Details:




  • Certification and Licensure:



    • Board Certification: Required for the Pediatric Hospitalist role.

    • Licensure: Must be licensed in Texas or eligible for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).

    • Certifications: BLS and PALS certifications are required; ABLS, ACLS, and ATLS are not necessary.

    • Credentialing Timeframe: Estimated at 30 days.

    • The hospital is experiencing a shortage of pediatricians and currently has only two part-time physicians. This creates a significant need for reliable locum tenens coverage.

    • The facility is stroke-certified, ensuring a high standard of care for patients.
