Oncologist - Hematologic Locum Tenens Opportunity Near New London, CT


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Oncologist for a locum tenens position near New London, CT. This flexible opportunity requires coverage from ASAP to an ongoing basis, offering a chance to work in a dynamic outpatient cancer practice. You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with various types of cancer, supported by an experienced team of healthcare professionals.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert medical care to patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.

  • Split time between two locations, ensuring consistent and comprehensive patient care.

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15 patients per day, with 1-2 new patients daily.

  • Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to deliver holistic care in a FTE environment.

  • Limited on-call duties, approximately 1 in 5, with very light call responsibilities.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards.


Schedule and Details:



  • Schedule Type: Flexible, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Semi-flexible).

  • On-Call: Limited, approximately 1 in 5, with very light duties.

  • Location: Near New London, CT.

  • Start Date: ASAP.

  • End Date: Ongoing.

  • Competitive compensation.


Qualifications:



  • Required: Board-Certified Medical Oncologist with a valid Connecticut license.

  • Experience: Significant experience in outpatient cancer care is preferred.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Telehealth: No telehealth experience required.
