Locum Tenens Hematologist/Oncologist Needed Near Oak Harbor, WA


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hematologist/Oncologist for a locum tenens position near Oak Harbor, WA. This position is a result of the need for supplemental coverage in a busy practice and offers a combination of outpatient and inpatient care. The role involves managing a diverse patient panel, providing high-quality care to those with various hematologic and oncologic conditions.

Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required

  • Fellowship: Preferred

  • Certifications: No specific certifications required (ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS not required)

  • Licensing Requirement: Licensed in WA or eligible for IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)

  • Privileges: Provider requires hospital/surgery center privileges

  • Temporary Privileges: Not available

  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 90 days

  • Patients Per Shift: 10-15

  • Bed in Department: 10-15

  • Rounding: N/A

Practice Details:



  • Work Schedule: Full-time availability is preferred, with a flexible schedule to cover both clinical hours and call

  • Patient Panel: Focused on hematology/oncology, including conditions such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), lymphoma, acute leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and benign hematology

  • Treatment Modalities: Experience with autologous stem cell transplant and CAR T cell therapy is preferred

  • Chemotherapy Administration: Conducted in an outpatient setting at a centralized treatment center by infusion

  • Research/Clinical Trials: A critical component of the practice; experience in this area is preferred
