Locum Tenens: Hematology and Oncology Physician


Location: Near Philadelphia, PA
Dates: ASAP - Ongoing


We are seeking a board-certified Hematology and Oncology Physician for a locum tenens position near Philadelphia, PA. This opportunity offers a flexible full-time schedule in an outpatient setting. Youll be joining a team dedicated to delivering high-quality care to patients facing cancer and blood disorders. The role includes patient consultations, treatments, and occasional call coverage.


Position Overview:



  • Position Type: Locum Tenens

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • End Date: Ongoing (with a minimum 6-month commitment required)

  • Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

  • Practice Setting: Outpatient

  • Call Coverage: 1 day per week, with two weekends of call over a 3-month period


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert consultation and treatment for patients with hematological and oncological conditions

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans for patients

  • Handle a patient volume of 10-20 per shift

  • Participate in call coverage 1 day per week and specified weekends as needed

  • Use the Epic EMR system to maintain accurate and timely patient records


Qualifications:



  • Board Certification: Required (Hematology and Oncology)

  • License: Must hold an active Pennsylvania medical license

  • Certifications:

    • ABLS: Required

    • ACLS: Not required

    • BLS/PALS: Not required



  • Fellowship: Not required

  • Temporary Privileges: Available for quick onboarding


Facility and Practice Details:



  • EMR System: Epic

  • Hospital Privileges: Required

  • Admissions: Yes, admissions are required

  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days

  • Hospital Certification: Stroke Certified facility

  • Weekend Call: Required for two weekends over the coverage period (, 10/25 and 11/29)

  • Potential Start Date: May need to move up to September 16, 2024, due to an anticipated leave of absence
