Contribute to patient care by providing on-call coverage, consultations, and necessary procedures/surgeries for urology patients on weekends, offering much-needed relief to our existing physician.Focus on Inpatient Care:
Dedicate your weekend shifts to delivering quality urologic care within a hospital setting. This includes taking consults, rounding on patients, and performing essential procedures.Advanced Technology Available:
The facility is equipped with 3 robotic surgical systems, and the team is open to accommodating a urologist with robotic surgery skills if desired.Work-Life Balance:
Maintain a healthy work-life balance with a predictable schedule of 1-2 weekend shifts per month (typically Thursday/Friday AM to Monday AM).Potential for Permanent Position:
This role is open to locum tenens physicians seeking a more permanent arrangement.Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to on-call situations during assigned weekend shifts, providing consultations and interventions for hospitalized patients with urologic conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive consultations and round on patients assigned to the urology service.
- Perform essential urologic procedures and surgeries as needed to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collaborate effectively with the on-call team, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless patient care.
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently within the facility's electronic medical records system.
Qualifications for Success:
- Current board certification in Urology is mandatory.
- Valid and active medical license in the state of Kentucky is required.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
- Experience performing general urology procedures, advanced endoscopic techniques (including ureteroscopy), and laser surgery is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, colleagues, and staff.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment is crucial.
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions in fast-paced, acute care situations.
