Locum Tenens General Surgeon Needed Near Union, WA (j-236612)
Seeking a Qualified and Experienced General Surgeon
Are you a dedicated and highly skilled General Surgeon passionate about providing comprehensive surgical care? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Union, WA. This ongoing locum tenens opportunity offers flexible call coverage, starting as soon as possible (ASAP) and extending for a minimum of six months.
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-call general surgical coverage, responding to a variety of surgical emergencies and traumas.
- Perform a range of general surgical procedures, including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder surgeries, colon surgeries, and laparoscopic procedures.
- Collaborate with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in general surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Washington (WA) medical license is required.
- Board certification in General Surgery is mandatory.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a general surgery setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in general surgery.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment with on-call responsibilities.
Additional Considerations:
- This locum tenens opportunity requires on-call coverage, with specific scheduling details to be determined.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of general surgical procedures, including those listed above.
- Procedures such as pediatric surgery, thyroid surgery, pulmonary surgery, and C-sections are not required for this position.
- Experience with endoscopy and liver procedures (biopsies, control of bleeding) is preferred.
