Seeking a Qualified and Experienced General Surgeon


Are you a dedicated and highly skilled General Surgeon passionate about providing comprehensive surgical care? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Union, WA. This ongoing locum tenens opportunity offers flexible call coverage, starting as soon as possible (ASAP) and extending for a minimum of six months.


Responsibilities:



  • Provide on-call general surgical coverage, responding to a variety of surgical emergencies and traumas.

  • Perform a range of general surgical procedures, including appendectomies, hernia repairs, gallbladder surgeries, colon surgeries, and laparoscopic procedures.

  • Collaborate with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the EPIC electronic medical record system.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in general surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities.


Qualifications:



  • Active and unrestricted Washington (WA) medical license is required.

  • Board certification in General Surgery is mandatory.

  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a general surgery setting is preferred.

  • Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in general surgery.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment with on-call responsibilities.

  • This locum tenens opportunity requires on-call coverage, with specific scheduling details to be determined.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of general surgical procedures, including those listed above.

  • Procedures such as pediatric surgery, thyroid surgery, pulmonary surgery, and C-sections are not required for this position.

  • Experience with endoscopy and liver procedures (biopsies, control of bleeding) is preferred.
