Opportunity Details:



  • Location: Near Yanceyville, North Carolina

  • Coverage Needed For: General Surgery

  • Type of Assignment: Call-only (no clinic time required)

  • Dates Available:

    • December 20-22, 2024

    • January 24-26, 2025

    • February 14-16, 2025

    • March 14-16, 2025



  • Shift Schedule: 24-hour on-call shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM (Friday through Sunday)


Responsibilities:



  • Rounding: Expect 2-4 hours per day of inpatient rounding with approximately 3-4 consults and managing up to 10 patients.

  • On-Call Obligations: Provide on-call support with prompt call-back response if needed. Call-back situations involve consultations, inpatient care, and urgent surgical needs.

  • Patient Demographics: Primarily adult and pediatric patients. Neonatal care is not required.

  • Trauma Level: The facility is not a designated trauma center, but providers should be prepared for some acute care and trauma cases.


Surgical Procedures Required:



  • Core Procedures: Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernioplasty.

  • Other Procedures: Chest wall and pleural procedures, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, and vascular access device placements.

  • Additional Skills: Experience with ventilation management and general trauma care is essential.


Assignment Details:



  • Practice Setting: Inpatient only

  • Support: Full hospital staff support; this position is solo call with no supervision requirements.

  • EMR System: Paragon

  • Certification Requirements: ACLS required; NC state license needed.

  • Privileges: Temporary privileges available for fast-tracked onboarding.
