We are seeking experienced Anesthesiologists for an exciting locum tenens opportunity near Piney Point, MD. This position offers a unique chance to work in a well-established inpatient setting, providing specialized care in both the Electrophysiology (EP) lab and general operating room. Position Overview:

  • Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only


Key Responsibilities:



  • Clinical Care:

    • Provide anesthesia services in the EP lab, focusing on independent cases such as various ablations and device placements.

    • Assist with General OR cases as needed, especially if the EP lab is being medically directed by a Cardiac Anesthesiologist.

    • Ensure the highest standard of care for patients undergoing both routine and complex procedures.



  • Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday shifts in the EP lab with no on-call responsibilities during the week.

    • Weekend coverage required in the General OR, including Saturday and Sunday day shifts (7a-7p) and backup call from the hotel during night shifts (7p-7a).

    • Participate in holiday coverage, including major holidays like New Years Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.



  • Practice Setting:

    • Focus on inpatient anesthesia services in a hospital setting.

    • Collaborate closely with Cardiac Anesthesiologists for complex cases while maintaining autonomy in the EP lab.

    • Utilize the Epic EMR system for all patient records and communications.




Practice Details:



  • Practice Setting: Inpatient

  • Support Staff:

    • Work alongside a dedicated team of nurses, surgical techs, and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality anesthesia care.

    • Collaborate with Cardiac Anesthesiologists for more complex cases, ensuring comprehensive patient management.



  • EMR System:

    • Proficient use of the Epic EMR system is required.



  • Certification and Licensing:

    • Must be board-certified in Anesthesiology.

    • Eligible candidates should hold an active license to practice in Maryland or be eligible for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).




Minimum Qualifications:



  • Experience:

    • At least one year of experience in an inpatient anesthesia setting is preferred.

    • Strong clinical skills in managing both EP lab and general OR cases.



  • Licensing:

    • Must be licensed to practice in Maryland or eligible for licensure through IMLC.



  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficient in using the Epic EMR system for patient management and documentation.



  • Certifications:

    • ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certifications are required.
