Locum Tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Opportunity Near Sumter, SC (ASAP - Ongoing)
We are seeking a skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens position near Sumter, South Carolina. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment while providing anesthesia services across a range of surgical procedures.
Job Overview:
- Position Type: Locum Tenens
- Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing
- Shift Details:
- 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 am - 3:00 pm, flexible)
- 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 am - 7:00 pm, flexible)
- On-call required: 1x12-hour weekend shift every 6 weeks
- Schedule:
- No weekday call
- Weekend coverage every 6 weeks
Work Details:
- Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adolescents, and Adults
- Procedures:
- General anesthesia, monitored anesthesia care (MAC), regional anesthesia
- Arterial/central line placement, ventilation management, acute volume/BP management
- Ultrasound-guided block placement
- Specialized procedures in out-of-operating-room settings such as GI, Cath Lab, MRI, and IR
- Department:
- Level 1 Trauma Center with high-acuity patient population
- 28 ORs with 100 cases per day (45% general, 15% OB, 15% cardiac, 5% thoracic/vascular, 10% ortho)
- Support from 2 NPs, 1 RN, 17 Anesthesia MDs, and 40+ CRNAs
- ACT model 4:1 ratio of CRNAs to anesthesiologists
Requirements:
- Board Certification: Must be NBCRNA certified
- Licensing: Must hold a valid South Carolina license
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS required
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CRNA experience
- Charting System: Epic experience preferred
- Trauma Level I Experience: Preferred but not required
Additional Information:
This position provides full-time coverage with flexibility in scheduling. CRNAs will be responsible for delivering anesthesia services to a mixed patient population of adults and pediatrics. The department covers a wide range of cases including healthy pediatrics, NICU, complex orthopedic, thoracic, vascular (excluding open hearts), neuro, and OB. No transplants are required in this role.
