Locum Tenens Opportunity: Cardiologist Near Waterbury, CT


We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist for an exciting locum tenens position near Waterbury, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced cardiologists to work in a flexible environment, providing inpatient care with no night or weekend call duties.


Position Overview:



  • Position Type: Locum Tenens

  • Specialty: Cardiologist (Internal Medicine Subspecialties)

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • End Date: Ongoing

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM, with a flexible schedule

  • On-Call Requirements: None for nights or weekends


Responsibilities:



  • Patient Care:

    • Round on new consults and in-house patients.

    • Read EKGs, Echoes, and Stress Tests.

    • Perform cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs).



  • Patient Volume:

    • Manage 8-10 patients per day.

    • Read approximately 8 echocardiograms daily.

    • Interpret 50-75 EKGs per day.

    • Conduct 1-2 stress tests on average, if needed.



  • Support:

    • You will be accompanied by a Physician Assistant (PA) during daily rounds.

    • A cardiologist in the office is available for support via phone, if required.




Practice Setting:



  • Patient Demographic: Primarily an older population, ranging in age from 40 to 90 years old. No pediatric patients, as care is provided to adults aged 18 and older.

  • Telehealth Experience: Not required.

  • Practice Environment: Inpatient setting, focused on cardiology services.


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Required in Cardiology.

  • Licensing: Must be licensed to practice in the state of Connecticut.

  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days for credentialing.
