Position Overview:



  • Position Type: Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician

  • Coverage Needs: Ongoing, with multiple shift options available

  • Setting: Outpatient focus with some inpatient coverage

  • Patient Load: Primarily emergency department patients, no admissions required

  • Shift Details: Day shifts (7a-7p) and night shifts (7p-7a) available

  • Shift Dates Available:

    • December 26, 2024 February 15, 2025 (specific dates listed for easy scheduling)



  • Bed Count: 22-bed emergency department

  • EMR System: MediTech


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Emergency Medicine board certification required

  • Licensing: Active North Carolina medical license

  • Certifications Required: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS, and NC Medicare & Medicaid

  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 2 weeks

  • Privileges: No hospital or surgery center privileges required; temporary privileges available


Facility and Support:



  • Facility Level: Not trauma certified

  • Pediatric Level: Level 0

  • Support Staff: Two advanced practice providers (PA/NPs) available; no resident or teaching responsibilities

  • On-Site Services: 24-hour availability for essential services such as anesthesia, general surgery, radiology, and laboratory
