24-hour in-house shift
Ongoing
Doc needs to be comfortable working super alone in a frontier-type community
Only ED doc curing the shift, 1 nurse and a tech on during the day and just a nurse on at night
Have 24/7 hospitalist coverage, who help with ED admits and codes
ED doc runs the codes with the nurse there
No surgery or ANE on site, but have tele-ED support at night
It's essentially a stand-alone ED
Average inpatient census is , 4k annual visits, and average ED visits/day
