Locum Tenens Opportunity: Emergency Medicine Physician Near Manchester, NH
We are seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician (ABEM BC required) for an exciting locum tenens opportunity near Manchester, NH. This role offers a chance to join a dynamic and highly collaborative team in a state-of-the-art emergency department.
Position Overview:
- Position Type: Locum Tenens
- Specialty: Emergency Medicine Physician
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: Ongoing (minimum 3-month commitment)
- Schedule: 26 hours of physician coverage, split into shifts from:
- 7 AM - 3 PM
- 2 PM - 10 PM
- 9 PM - 7 AM
- APP Coverage: 12-20 hours of advanced practice provider coverage daily.
Emergency Department Profile:
- Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- 25-bed Emergency Department with approximately 27,000 annual visits.
- Admission Rate: 30% of patients admitted.
- Specialty Rooms: Designated areas for trauma, gynecology, ear-nose-throat, and cardiac patients.
- Staff: Board-certified emergency physicians and nurses trained in trauma and advanced cardiac life support. The nursing staff includes professionals with advanced emergency certifications, such as CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) and SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) certification.
- Coordination with EMS Providers: Ensures rapid response and treatment for stroke and other critical patients.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical services.
- Collaborate with a well-trained emergency department team, including advanced practice providers.
- Trauma and Critical Care:
- Manage cases in a Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center.
- Provide support for specialized emergency services, including neurological care and interventional radiology.
- Coordination with Ancillary Services: Access to specialized services, including a high-level ICU not commonly available elsewhere in the region.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Must be ABEM Board Certified (BCEM).
- Licensing: Must hold a current medical license for New Hampshire or be eligible for one.
- Experience: Ideal candidates should have experience in a trauma center environment.
Additional Information:
- Duration: Minimum 3-month commitment, with the possibility of ongoing work.
- Affiliation: The physician will also support two affiliated Free-Standing Emergency Rooms nearby.
