Locum Tenens Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician Opportunity Near North Adams, MA (ASAP - Ongoing)
We are actively seeking a Board-Certified Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician for a locum tenens position near North Adams, Massachusetts. This role offers the opportunity to work in both office and hospital settings, providing comprehensive ENT care and surgical services.
Assignment Details:
- Specialty: Otolaryngology (ENT)
- Position Type: Locum Tenens
- Shift Times: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Days)
- Weekend Requirements: Yes
- On Call Requirements: 2 weekdays and a weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with minimal emergency department (ED) coverage
Practice Setting:
- Office: 4 days per week
- Hospital: 1 day per week for surgeries
- Emergency/Inpatient Care: Periodic, with a slow emergency department pace
- Average Cases Per Day (Hospital): 7
- Average Patients Per Day (Private Practice): 18-20
Surgical Procedures Required:
- General ENT Surgery: Tracheotomy
- Specific Surgical Requirements:
- Tonsillectomy
- Adenoidectomy
- PE Tube placement
- Endoscopic Procedures Required:
- Septal
- Sinus
- Laryngoscopy
Non-Surgical ENT Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and Management: Disorders involving ears, nose, throat, and skeletal facial structures
- Hearing Evaluations: Required as part of regular patient care
Additional Information:
- Patient Age Demographic: All ages
- Support Staff: 2 Physician Assistants (PAs), 1 Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) per provider
- Exam Rooms: 7 exam rooms, 2 audiology rooms
- Otolaryngologists in Practice: 2 permanent staff and 2 locum tenens physicians
- Practice Structure: 80% office-based, 20% hospital-based with a focus on surgical procedures
Certification and Licensing Requirements:
- Board Certification: Required
- Active Massachusetts License: Required (No IMLC due to credentialing)
- BLS, ACLS, ATLS: Required
- COVID Vaccination: Required
- Clean Background and No Malpractice History: Required for credentialing
Documentation System:
- EMR System: Expanse
