Emergency Medicine Physician - Locum Tenens Opportunity Near North Adams, MA


We are actively seeking a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for an exciting locum tenens opportunity near North Adams, MA. This full-time position is available ASAP and will extend until at least next summer, offering a great chance to provide essential care in a dynamic environment.


Position Overview:



  • Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing

  • Location: Near North Adams, MA

  • Specialty: Emergency Medicine

  • Shift Type: Days

  • Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts

  • Call Requirements: None - EM physicians are not required to take call.

  • Trauma Level: Level 3

  • Total Number of Beds: 38

  • Annual ER Volume: 44,000

  • EMR System: Meditech Expanse

  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 45 Days


Responsibilities:



  • Patient Care: Provide expert care to emergency department patients, with an average of 12 patients per 8-hour shift. For those opting for longer shifts, expect around 18 patients per 12-hour shift.

  • Codes: You will not be responsible for codes on the floor.

  • Admissions: Hospitalists or the admitting service will handle admissions.

  • APP Coverage: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are available, with their schedule running from 8am to 10pm. This ensures comprehensive patient care support throughout your shift.

  • Coverage: Shifts are not single coverage, ensuring you have the necessary team support.


Submission Requirements:



  • Active Massachusetts License: Required (IMLC not accepted due to credentialing).

  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS - Required.

  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABEM, AOBEM) - Required.

  • COVID Vaccination: Required.

  • Clean Background: No malpractice history due to credentialing requirements.
