Locum Tenens Opportunity: Urgent Care Physician Near St. Louis, MO
We are seeking experienced physicians specializing in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, Family Medicine, or Med/Peds to join our team on a locum tenens basis near St. Louis, MO. This role is designed for those who are passionate about providing high-quality care in a fast-paced outpatient setting, managing a variety of urgent care needs for both pediatric and adult patients.

Requirements:
Board Certification:
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds.
- Board certification must be obtained within 5 years of residency completion.
- Certification must be from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Board (AOB). Other certifications are not accepted.
Licensure: Licensed in MO or through IMLC.

Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Must be comfortable treating both adult and pediatric patients (generally 6 months and up).
- Experience with minor procedures (sutures, casts, splints) and reading EKGs and X-rays.
- Familiarity with EMR systems is essential; Epic training will be provided post-credentialing.

- Credentialing Timeframe: 90+ days, with a recommendation to plan for 120 days, especially for physicians with lengthy resumes.

Scheduling/Needs:
Shifts:
- Up to 14 shifts per month, with a preference for locums able to cover a significant number of shifts.
- Flexibility to work in centers throughout the St. Louis area.
- Ability to schedule 4 shifts in a row is highly preferred.
Centers Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 to 8 (12-hour shifts)
- Saturday and Sunday: 9 to 5 (8-hour shifts)
- No overtime will be granted.
Description/Other Details:
Physicians will be working in a state-of-the-art urgent care clinic that includes lab and mobile X-ray facilities. Providers must be skilled in treating patients of all ages, from 6 months and up, for a wide range of urgent care needs. Responsibilities include performing minor procedures such as suturing, wound care, I&Ds, splinting, reading X-rays, and ECGs, as well as placing IVs. Collaboration with medical assistants, scribes, and radiology techs is required, though no RN/LPN support is available.
COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended, and the flu vaccine will be required unless an exemption is provided.
