Endocrinology Physician Opportunity Near LOCUST VALLEY, NY


The Ideal Candidate:



  • Clinical Experience: One to three years of endocrinology clinical experience in an outpatient setting.

  • Diagnostic Skills: Ability to diagnose and treat a wide variety of endocrinology conditions with a focus on improving patient outcomes.

  • Competency: Demonstrate competency in diagnosis and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety.

  • Patient-Centered Approach: Exhibit a patient-centered approach, fostering a positive patient experience.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.

  • Interest in Population Health Management: Display an interest in Population Health Management to contribute to holistic patient care.


Responsibilities:



  • Patient Evaluation:

    • Review patients history and perform a physical examination, maintaining complete and accurate medical records.

    • Conduct physical evaluation and diagnostic tests to determine diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment and patient care plan.



  • Endocrinology Care:

    • Diagnose and treat patients with a variety of hormonal diseases and conditions related to the endocrine systems.

    • Provide comprehensive, cost-effective diabetes care with the available support of CDE/RD services.



  • Management Recommendations:

    • Recommend suitable management for the patient, including preventive health recommendations and habits.

    • Prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans.



  • Patient-Centered Care:

    • Provide relationship-centered care, taking into account the patients psychosocial and physical needs.



  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care.

    • Share on-call phone answering responsibilities with other Endocrinologists, presently on or about every six weeks rotation basis.



  • Educational Participation:

    • Participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings.




Qualifications:



  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) or foreign equivalent.

  • Residency: Completion of three-year postgraduate medical training from a accredited residency program in Internal Medicine.

  • Fellowship: Completion of two-year postgraduate medical training from an accredited fellowship program in the area of practice (, Endocrine, Diabetes, and Metabolism Medicine).

  • Experience: Open to both experienced and newly trained providers.

  • Certification: Board Eligible/Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.

  • License: Must possess current, unrestricted New York State license.

  • Registration: Must possess Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or be eligible for registration.

  • Enrollment: Must possess Medicare/Medicaid Enrollment or be eligible to enroll.

  • Certification: BLS or ACLS certification required.

  • Communication Skills: Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Technology Comfort: Comfortable with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and Microsoft Office.
