A healthcare facility near Boulder, CO, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with primary care experience to join their team on a locum tenens basis. This is an excellent opportunity to provide care in a collaborative, patient-focused environment while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.
Position Details:
- Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Shifts per Month: 8-12 shifts per month
- Coverage Days: Every Saturday, every other Friday, and additional shifts for vacation coverage
- Lunch Break: 30-minute lunch
- Practice Setting: Inpatient only
Patient Population:
- Adult (18+): 80% of patient population
- Geriatrics: 5%
- Pediatrics: 15% (Adolescents 13-18 years old)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform medical histories, physicals, and manage a variety of primary care diagnoses.
- Work in a hospital-based practice, focusing on the stabilization and treatment of patients in an inpatient setting.
- No supervisory responsibilities for other healthcare providers, but collaborate closely with 3 psychiatrists and 1 supervising family medicine provider.
Support and Facility Information:
- Support Staff: 7 LPNs and Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs)
- Onsite Services: 2 exam rooms
- Offsite Services: X-ray and lab services available at nearby hospital
- EMR System: EPIC
Patient Load:
- Inpatient caseload of up to 41 patients
- Involves admissions, with up to 12 admissions at a time
Requirements:
- Certifications: Board Certified, BLS required
- License: Must hold a valid medical license and be within driving distance of Boulder, CO
- Experience: Strong background in primary care with experience in inpatient settings preferred
- DEA Certification: Required
Travel and Accommodation:
- Flights and lodging expenses are reimbursed (up to specified caps)
- Car rental reimbursement is available, up to an economy car limit
- Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate
