We are seeking a skilled and dedicated physician for a locum tenens opportunity near Norman, OK. This is an exciting chance to provide care in a vibrant community while enjoying the flexibility of locum tenens work.


Coverage Details



  • Specialties Needed: Hospitalist, Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Reason for Coverage: Increased patient volume

  • End Date: Ongoing

  • Average Patients Per Shift: 15-20


Call and Shift Details



  • Call Type: Beeper

  • Average Call Responses: 0-10 phone consults per day

  • Call Ratio: 0 (No admissions required)

  • Average Time in House: 10 hours (8 AM - 6 PM)

  • On-Call Hours: 6 PM - 8 AM (14 hours)

  • Average Callback Overnight: 1-3 times per week

Provider Requirements



  • Board Certification Required: Yes (Must be board-eligible)

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

    • Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder)

    • ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)

    • Colonoscopy (with biopsy, excision of polyp)

    • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

    • Liver biopsy

  • The facility has 24-hour availability for various support services, including anesthesia, general surgery, and radiology.
