We have an exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist in beautiful southwestern Colorado, near Ophir. This is a temporary assignment with varied shift schedules, offering the chance to work in both clinical and procedural settings. Key Details:



  • Location: Near Ophir, Colorado

  • Position: Locum Gastroenterologist (Physician)

  • Start Date: October 21, 2024

  • Shift Structure:

    • Weekdays (Mon-Fri): 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (clinic or scoping), followed by night call (5:00 PM 7:00 AM).

    • Weekends (Sat-Sun): 24-hour call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM.

    • Holiday Call: Special rates apply for on-call coverage during holidays.



  • Shifts Per Month: Approximately 14 shifts with flexibility depending on calendar availability.


Responsibilities:



  • Perform 12-16 scopes per day in procedural settings.

  • Manage a daily patient load of 10-15 in the clinic.

  • Be responsible for EGD, colonoscopy, manometry, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and 24-hour PH probe procedures.

  • Complete all patient orders, including pathology requests.

  • Work alongside a dedicated team of medical professionals including MAs, NPs/PAs, and RNs.

  • Participate in night call and 24-hour weekend call coverage as required.


Requirements:



  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology (required).

  • Gastroenterology Fellowship (required).

  • Active Colorado Medical License (preferred) or willingness to obtain one.

  • DEA License (required).

  • Experience in treating patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is highly preferred.

  • Must be comfortable with EMR systems, specifically EPIC, and complete all required EMR training prior to the start date.

  • Varied shift schedule with flexibility across weekdays and weekends.

  • Upcoming shifts starting from October 21st through February 2025.

  • Night call and weekend call are part of the assignment.


Compensation:



  • Competitive hourly rates with additional compensation for holiday and on-call shifts.

  • Travel expenses covered, including flights, rental cars, and lodging (reimbursed up to GSA rates).

  • Mileage reimbursement at the IRS standard rate.
