Locum Tenens Gastroenterology Opportunity Near Phoenix, AZ


Are you a skilled gastroenterologist seeking a flexible locum tenens position? We have an immediate opportunity near Phoenix, AZ, for a board-certified physician to join a dedicated team. This role is designed to fill a crucial gap in patient care, providing both inpatient and outpatient services with a particular focus on advanced procedures.


Position Overview:



  • Location: Near Phoenix, AZ

  • Start Date: ASAP (as soon as credentialed)

  • End Date: Ongoing

  • Shift Type: Flexible, with a minimum commitment of 3-7 days per month


Assignment Details:



  • Setting: Hospital and office-based practice

  • FTE: - (depending on availability)

  • Duties:

    • Evaluate and treat patients in an ambulatory clinic setting.

    • Perform endoscopy procedures during scheduled block time and while on call.

    • Procedures include ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) and EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound).

    • Office capabilities include esophageal manometry, video capsule endoscopy, and Fibroscanthese procedures are performed by clinical staff and interpreted by physicians.



  • Support Staff: Includes medical receptionists, surgery schedulers, medical assistants, and registered nurses.

  • EMR System: Cerner


Requirements:



  • Board Certification: Must be board-certified in Gastroenterology.

  • State License: Must hold an active Arizona state license or IMLC (Letter of Qualification in hand).

  • Residency/Fellowship: Completion required.

  • Certifications: BLS certification required.

  • Malpractice: Clean malpractice history preferred.

  • Availability: Must be available for at least one week (7 days) per month, including the ability to perform ERCP and EUS.
