Description/Other Details:
- This is a GI Hospitalist/inpatient GI call coverage request. The Gastroenterologist will have an average of 5-8 procedures each day, including up to 5 elective outpatient procedures that require Anesthesia support (not IVCS).
- Average new inpatient consults per day: 3-6.
- Strong preference for candidates who perform ERCP.
- Anesthesia is readily available during the day shift. On weekends, usually two anesthesia teams are available in the morning, and add-on GI cases are in the queue with all other surgical add-ons. IV conscious sedation is available for procedures if required.
- The physician is responsible for communicating biopsy results for all procedures directly to the patient or routed through the designated clinic MA. Coordination of additional steps including referrals, follow-ups, and additional imaging may be necessary. EPIC training will be required.
