A healthcare facility near Royal City, WA, is seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to fill a locum tenens position. This role offers an excellent opportunity to practice in a dynamic outpatient setting with flexible scheduling.


Position Details:



  • Start Date: ASAP

  • End Date: Ongoing

  • Shift Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only

  • Practice Setting: Outpatient only (Inpatient not required)

  • Patients per Shift: 14-16 patients daily

  • Support Staff: Includes 5 Medical Assistants and 1 PA/NP

  • EMR System: EPIC


Required Skills:



  • Procedures:

    • Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, varices injection)

    • ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic)

    • Colonoscopy (with biopsy and excision of polyps)

    • Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)

    • Esophageal dilatation/manometry

    • Small bowel biopsy

    • Liver biopsy

    • Insertion/management of Sengstaken-Blakemore tube




Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage and treat a variety of liver and gastrointestinal cases, including more complex patients.

  • Conduct in-clinic procedures such as Pill Cam interpretation, PEG tube exchange, Hemoccult tests, and Lidocaine injections.

  • Engage in routine clinic responsibilities like pathology reviews, new patient referrals, and addressing PA questions (direct supervision not required).


Certifications & Licensing:



  • Required Certifications: Board Certified in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS

  • License: Must be licensed in Washington State or have an active Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license.
