We have an exciting Locum Tenens opportunity for a skilled Gastroenterologist near Twin Rocks, PA. This assignment offers a chance to work in a dynamic healthcare setting, providing essential care to both inpatients and outpatients, while enjoying the serene surroundings of Pennsylvanias scenic landscapes. Ideal candidates will bring a high level of expertise in gastroenterological procedures and have an active Pennsylvania license.


Position Highlights:



  • Location: Near Twin Rocks, PA

  • Duration: Multiple dates available from November 2024 through December 2025

  • Setting: Both inpatient and outpatient environments

  • Schedule:

    • Monday - Friday: GI lab hours from 8 am to 4 pm

    • On-Call Hours: 5 pm to 5 pm, including weekends on assigned dates

    • Weekends (Sat-Sun): Rounds and consults, approximately 4 hours onsite per day




Responsibilities:



  • Daily Consults and Rounds:

    • Average 5-10 inpatient consults per day when on-call

    • Emergency consults and procedures as needed



  • Weekend Onsite Duties: 4 hours per day of hospital rounds and consults on assigned weekends

  • Procedures:

    • Full scope of GI procedures, including upper GI endoscopies, colonoscopies, PEG placements, small bowel biopsies, and more

    • Essential skills in upper and lower GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, esophageal dilatation, and therapeutic procedures




Qualifications:



  • Certification: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (American Board of Internal Medicine)

  • Licensure: Active Pennsylvania medical license

  • Training: Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology

  • Experience: Proficiency in core GI procedures, including EGDs, dilatations, and PEG placements


Additional Details:



  • Call Coverage: Beeper call coverage with a 30-minute response time required

  • Team Support: Physician Assistants available to assist with inpatient consults, Monday through Friday

  • Travel and Lodging: Travel arrangements, including lodging, provided near Pittsburgh or Latrobe for convenience
