What You'll Do:



  • Respond to call needs and provide timely consultations and management plans for inpatients with a variety of gastrointestinal complications.

  • Conduct bedside procedures, such as paracentesis or thoracentesis, as needed for inpatients.

  • Collaborate with referring physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure coordinated care for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions.

  • Participate in hospital-wide initiatives and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care within the gastroenterology department.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in gastroenterology and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities (time permitting).


Who You Are:



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a current and active license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania (only).

  • Board-certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) (required). Fellowship in Gastroenterology preferred.

  • Current ACLS certification (required).

  • BLS certification (required).

  • A commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in both inpatient and consultative settings.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

  • The ability to manage a fast-paced call environment while maintaining a high level of clinical judgment and decision-making.
