This upstate New York community is looking to expand their existing 8 physician hospitalist program. There are currently 4 physicians in the group. They schedule is 1 week on and 1 week off, all 12 hour shifts. They run 3 physicians on during the day and 1 at night so the week of nights is done every 8th week. The average census per provider is between 15-20 patients. The hospital is a 275 bed facility that has a level I trauma designation. The serving are is above 250,000 people. There are 180 physicians on staff. This is an employed position through the hospital with a started base salary of $195,000 for board eligible physicians and $215,000 for board certified. They offer a $15,000 sign on bonus plus $10,000 per year in loan assistance. They also ha a full benefits package that includes paid malpractice insurance with tail, health insurance, dental, $200,000 life insurance policy, 7 days vacation, 401k with match, traditional pension plan, $3,000 in CME allowance plus paid licenses and dues.
