Growing hospital employed hospitalist group in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area needs another hospitalist. There are 4 hospitalists and 2 Nurse Practitioners in the practice. They are hiring because a neighboring hospital closed and their volume is up 30%. Work a hybrid 7 day on and 7 day off schedule. The 7 days on, there is a 3 day rotation. Day 1 work 8am to 4pm admitting, day 2 work 4pm to 8am admitting (in hospital until 10pm and call from home the remainder of the night with the ER docs writing standing orders) and day 3 round and go home. Average rounding days are 12 to 15 patients and they hospital averages 5 day admits and 5 night admits. Round in ICU, no procedures at all. The hospitalist do respond to codes. They are offering a $200,000 starting base salary and $20,000 in incentive bonuses, malpractice with tail, relocation and an excellent benefits package that includes health/dental/vision, 401K with match, life and disability insurance, $2,000 CME allowance and paid licensed and DEA.
