Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician

  • PRN - as needed basis

  • Able to work weekends, if desired/needed

Overview:


We are seeking General Medicine Providers to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams + Separation Health Assessments across the country.


Assignment Details:



  • Duration: PRN basis, ongoing

  • Specialties Accepted: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or anyone with a background in general medicine or experience with compensation and pension

  • Coverage Options: Two options available - Travel and perform exams at VES leased facility and/or schedule Veterans within your own practice

  • Shift Options: Half days (4-hours) and/or full days (8-hours)

  • Exam Type: One-time non-treatment C&P exams + separation health assessments

  • Exam Format: Primarily interview-based with some physical assessment including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing

  • Prescribing/Treatment: No prescribing or treatment involved

  • Credentialing: Quick credentialing & onboarding process

  • Certification: DMA certification available (can get CME credits) will need to obtain once privileged if not already certified

  • Equipment: Use of Goniometer required

  • Expertise Required: Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio conditions. Proficiency in METs testing, evaluating, and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.

  • Technology: Own personal laptop (NO MACs) required for completing evaluations and submitting Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)

  • Reporting: DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion - no narrative report. End product is completion of standardized form(s).

  • Record Review: Required in most cases

  • Follow-up Administrative Work: Addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics will be required on a regular basis
