Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician Near Frederic, MI


We are seeking experienced General Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity near Frederic, MI. This position is perfect for providers looking for a flexible, PRN-based role where they can contribute to the health and well-being of veterans. The role involves conducting Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments, offering an excellent opportunity to utilize your clinical skills in a meaningful and impactful way.


Position Overview:



  • Profession: Physician

  • Shift Type: Days (PRN - as needed basis)


Key Responsibilities:




  • Conduct Non-Treatment Exams:



    • Perform one-time C&P exams and Separation Health Assessments primarily through interviews and limited physical assessments.

    • Assessments may include range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, and other relevant evaluations.

    • Ensure the completion of all evaluations within 48 hours of exam completion, with no narrative report requiredonly standardized forms.




  • Option for Flexible Coverage:



    • Two options are available: Travel to perform exams at a leased facility or schedule veterans within your own practice.

    • Work half days (4 hours) or full days (8 hours) based on your availability and preference.




  • No Prescribing or Treatment:



    • This role is focused solely on assessments, with no requirement for prescribing or ongoing treatment, making it ideal for physicians looking for a non-clinical role.




Support & Training:



  • Quick Credentialing & Onboarding:

    • Streamlined processes to get you started quickly and efficiently.



  • Training Provided:

    • Comprehensive training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and the use of the provider portal.



  • Use of Personal Equipment:

    • Physicians must have their own laptop (no Macs) for completing evaluations and reporting.




Required Expertise:



  • Specialized Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardiology is essential.

    • Proficiency in METs testing and the ability to evaluate and diagnose respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions are required.



  • Certification Requirements:

    • Board Certified or Board Eligible.

    • DMA certification is available, offering CME credits upon completion (required if not already certified).




Additional Information:



  • Follow-Up Administrative Work:

    • Regular administrative tasks such as addendums, medical opinions, and diagnostic readings are part of the role.

    • This is a PRN role with the flexibility to work as needed, making it ideal for providers who want to maintain a balanced lifestyle while contributing to veteran care.
