Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician Near Lunenburg, VT


We are currently seeking experienced General Medicine Physicians for a locum tenens opportunity near Lunenburg, VT. This position is available ASAP and ongoing, providing flexibility with a PRN schedule. This role involves conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.


Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:




  • Coverage Options:



    • Two options for coverage: travel to perform exams at a leased facility or schedule Veterans within your own practice.

    • Flexibility to work either days (4-hours) or full days (8-hours).




  • Exams and Assessments:



    • Conduct one-time non-treatment Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments.

    • Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.

    • No prescribing or treatment involved.




  • Administrative and Technical Details:



    • Quick credentialing and onboarding process.

    • DMA certification is available (CME credits can be earned); certification must be obtained once privileged if not already certified.

    • Use of a Goniometer is required.

    • Must be familiar with musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular health.

    • Proficiency in METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions is essential.

    • A personal laptop (no Macs) is required.




  • Reporting Requirements:



    • Training will be provided for all Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs).

    • DBQs must be submitted within 48 hours upon exam completion; no narrative report required. The end product is the completion of standardized forms.

    • Evaluations to be completed in the provider portal.

    • Record review is required in most cases.

    • Regular follow-up administrative work, including addendums, medical opinions, and reading diagnostics.




Certification and Licensing:



  • Certification Requirements: Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Medicine.

  • State License Requirements: Active Vermont License
