Locum Tenens Opportunity: General Medicine Physician Near Nampa, ID


We are seeking a General Medicine Physician for a locum tenens role near Nampa, ID. This position involves performing Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments to assist veterans. The position is PRN-based and ongoing, providing flexibility to match your availability. If you have experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine with a background in compensation and pension, this is a great opportunity to contribute to a vital cause while maintaining a flexible schedule.


Position Overview:



  • Position Type: Locum Tenens, PRN basis

  • Specialty: General Medicine

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • End Date: Ongoing

  • Shift Type: Days (flexible hours)


Responsibilities:



  • Compensation & Pension (C&P) Exams:

    • Conduct one-time, non-treatment exams and separation health assessments for veterans.

    • Exams are primarily interview-based, with some physical assessment (, range of motion and muscle strength testing).

    • No prescribing or ongoing treatment required.



  • Coverage Options:

    • Option 1: Travel and perform exams at a designated leased facility.

    • Option 2: Schedule veterans within your own practice.

    • Work either half-days (4-hour shifts) or full-days (8-hour shifts) depending on your availability.




Qualifications:



  • Board Certification: Required in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or other general medicine backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in:

    • Musculoskeletal conditions, diabetes, and cardiovascular evaluations.

    • METs testing and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.

    • Experience using a goniometer for physical assessments.



  • Certification Requirements:

    • Board Certified physician.

    • Active and unrestricted medical license in Idaho.

    • Willingness to complete DMA certification (CME credits available). This certification is necessary after privileging, though expenses for DMA certification and portal training are not covered.
