Job Details:


The facility is seeking a Medical Oncologist to provide coverage from ASAP to August 2025. As part of an outpatient practice, the locum oncologist will enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with no weekend or on-call requirements. The patient population predominantly consists of adults and geriatric individuals, with an average of 15-20 patients seen per day in the outpatient setting.


Within the practice, two physicians and three advanced practice providers (APPs) collaborate to deliver comprehensive oncology services. The clinical focus encompasses both hematology and oncology, with approximately 70% of cases related to hematology and 30% to oncology.


Key responsibilities include ordering tests and images, prescribing medications, and overseeing the administration of chemotherapy, primarily carried out by nurse oncologists. The practice utilizes the Epic documentation system, ensuring efficient record-keeping and seamless patient care coordination.


Requirements:


Candidates must be board-certified in oncology and hold ACLS certification. An Ohio medical license and DEA registration are highly preferred, although the facility is willing to accept candidates who need to obtain licensure. COVID vaccination and a flu shot are also required, with documentation noted at the time of name clearance.
